Quick new years update for you guys. Things have still been pretty slow with the dead period and season being over.
The Timarcus Davis decommittent and flip to Baylor provided a bit of news during the slow period.
The news there means the Cougars desire to get better at CB becomes even more important. They'll try to add at least two CB's during the last month. Euless (TX) Trinity CB John Davis (a current Texas Tech commit) and Arlington (TX) Mansfield CB Lamarque Davis are expected to be in on official visits during the first weekend. Also keep an eye out for former La. Tech commit Amik Robertson who recently reopened his recruitment and remains very high on the list for Houston.
The other big need is defensiv line. The big name to watch here continues to be Baton Rouge (LA) Madison Prep DE Bryan Jones who will be visiting Jan. 13-15. Another name to watch that will visit the same weekend is Houston (TX) Houston Christian DT Joshua Rogers.
Another area Houston would like to add some talent is at running back.
Current SMU pledge Kayce Medlock is an intriguing name to watch here. Another under the radar prospect to keep an eye on is Rockdale (TX) running back Davion Ford. Houston is working on recruiting both and trying to get them in for visits.
