Caught up with recent Houston offer Jeremy Flax who is a Rivals.com four-star offensive tackle for the class of 2020 out of Independence (KS) Independence Community College.

Flax is armed with 25-plus offers from schools all over the country trying to secure his services. He's looking to trim his list sometime this month and the Cougars are trying to work their way into position to make that cut.

Along with an offer from Houston, Flax also holds offers from Arkansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma State, SMU, Tennessee, Temple and Texas Tech to name a few.

He's already taken visits to Texas Tech and Toledo and added that Temple, Texas Tech and South Carolina are some of the schools recruiting him the hardest right now.

Thoughts on UH

"Houston is a young team, I think they're in their 3rd or 4th year rebuilding and they're doing a pretty solid job. I talk to coach [Brandon] Jones the most we've been talking a lot through text about the school and stuff."

On What He's Looking For

"I'm looking to play my next year on a winning team with winning coaches who can develop me to the next level."

Flax is expected to narrow his recruitment down to a selected number of top school within the first two weeks of November but isn't sure if it'll be a top 10 or a top 5. Stay tuned.

2021 RB from El Paso (TX) Anericas was recently offered by Houston and could be one to watch over the next few months as he potentially eyes making a decision soon

He's alreasy visited SMU, UTEP, New Mexico, North Texas and Texas Tech and says he'd like to visit UH soon.

"Plan on visiting UH soon," Dumas told Cougarsden " I have some interest from Minnesota and Michigan St as well. Been invited to come visit. But district play starts this week and will be sitting down to plan more visits with my parents. Visited Texas tech this passed weekend."

Good news for Houston that they got in when they did, as Dumas could be nearing a decision later this year.

"Been in contact with Justin Johnson the RB coach the most from Houston. Im thinking about settling and making a decision before the end of my Junior year."

It will be vital for Houston to get Dumas on campus before he makes his decision. Theres a lot of momentum here with SMU right now as they're one of the schools recruiting him the hardest and with their hot start this season they're certainly trending upwards in Dumas' recruitment, but he still wants to learn more about Houston going forward.

"I've been in contact the most with SMU and North Texas. Team standing out is definitely SMU especially that they are currently top 25. Not to sure what visits I have upcoming. I really liked watching UH they are a really solid team with a good program still learning a lot about the school currently."

Recruiting Weekend Rewind: Notable Visitors on Saturday Night

Hey guys, first off I want to apologize. I know I've discussed in the past some of medical issues my wife has been dealing with and it's caused me to take time away from my job here at Rivals. I've received a lot of emails and support in regards to that matter and I appreciate all of you.

With that said, I want to get things back on track here so you're going to start seeing a lot more content and recruiting coverage going forward.

I'll kick things off with a few notable visitors from this weekend.

Recruiting Houston Flips Big Ten QB Commit

Former Rutgers commit Sofian Massoud has committed flipped his commitment from Rutgers to Houston. The Katy (TX) product is a Rivals three-star athlete, but will be given a shot at quarterback at Houston. I'm also told that he likely won't be the only QB prospect taken in this cycle.

It's worth noting that both of Massoud's parents went to UH.
