Houston Cougar Baseball

Dugout Club

Over the last four years, my staff and I have worked tirelessly to resurrect Houston Baseball and to return the program to a level of national prominence. Last season, the team reached new heights and goals of a Championship season were met. With that, we are expecting another great year and look forward to showcasing those efforts on and off the field.

Ending the 2014 season with a record of 48-18, the Cougars finished ranked No. 11 in the nation and notched one of the best seasons in program history, tying a program-record with 48 wins and earning its first trip to the NCAA postseason since 2008. Houston captured the Baton Rouge Regional title with back-to-back wins over LSU to advance to the Austin Super Regional vs. Texas - a first since 2003.

2014 also saw the Cougars win the American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship tournament title with a win over Louisville. Houston Baseball posted the nation's No. 1 RPI in non-conference, regular-season play with a 27-5 record - the most since 27 in 2002 for the program.

The 2015 Houston Baseball team, which includes a recruiting class ranked No. 33 in the nation, will hit the field February 13-15 with a home series against Minnesota.

Contributing to the strong play, Cougar Field underwent an essential renovation with the installation of FieldTurf last winter and is now considered one of the finest college baseball stadiums in the nation. Upgrades like this, along with numerous other needs that directly impact the team, is one that all Cougars can take pride in for many years to come and was made possible by generous donations to the Dugout Club.

I want to invite you to become a member of The Houston Cougar Baseball Dugout Club for 2015. With the goal of winning a National Championship ahead of us, we are working tirelessly as a staff and team to improve each day as a unit and individually. The Road to OMAHA is foreseeable and to achieve this ultimate goal we need your continued help and support. The Dugout Club is in place for two reasons:

1. To raise the interest level in Houston Baseball

2. To increase and stabilize financial support for the program

I realize that everyone interested in Houston Baseball is not in the same position financially to support the program. For this reason we have created two levels for you to choose from (Diamond and Pinch Hitter Levels). No matter what level of giving you choose to participate in, you will play a major impact on our student athletes. The enclosed information explains the dynamics of each option for giving.

More than ever we need your support as we look to continue our Championship ways and have our eyes set on OMAHA this spring. Houston Baseball is a high caliber program that consistently graduates the type of young men who will represent UH at the highest level both on and off the field. Your generous support will have a direct impact on the experience and development of our outstanding student-athletes.

On behalf of the coaching staff and players, thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you and your family at Cougar Field this spring!

Go Coogs!
