Yes, we're 7-4, but Sagarin has us at 83 and with an SOS of 138.
The SOS is easy to figure out.
The highest ranked team we've played is #42 Memphis. The next two highest are #49 BYU and #59 UCF. So, we're 1-2 against the "middle class" of FBS. (Memphis has got to be kicking its collective self.)
After that, the next highest ranked team we've played is #94 Temple, with no others under 100: Tulane #130, UTSA #132, USF #140, Tulsa #154, UNLV #157, SMU #208, and Grambling #214.
Think about that: we're 2-4 against the top #132. Indeed. And we're only 5-2 against #130 or lower.
Five of our seven wins came against teams that Sagarin has at #140 or lower. Good thing they were on the schedule.
Yes, we've played weak schedules before, but we typically crushed the weaker teams.
Tell me again why there's any open question?
