Current AAC standings (2 games to play):
Cincy 14-2
WSU 13-3
Houston 12-4
Tulsa 10-6
Memphis 9-7
UCF 8-8
Temple 8-8
SMU 6-10
UConn 6-10
Tulane 5-11
ECU 4-12
USF 1-15
Our last 2 regular season games are at SMU and home for UCONN. I believe that we are locked in to at least a 3 seed because we hold tie breaker over Tulsa. I'm not sure how the tie breaker works if WSU loses to Cincy in the final game of the season, and ends tied with us having an identical conference record and splitting the head to head.
Either way, the 3 and the 2 seeds are on the same side of the bracket, so it really won't make too much of a difference other than our first opponent of the tournament. Both seeds have a first round bye, and then assuming no upsets they would play each other in the semi-finals (after 1 actual game).
If the tournament started today we would play the winner of UCF/ECU in round 2 (6 vs 11). WSU as the 2 seed would play the winner of the 7 vs 10 game which would be Temple vs Tulane.
However Temple and UCF are tied in the conference standings. UCF has home games against WSU and Tulane left and Temple has games at UCONN and at Tulsa.
Memphis is only 1 game ahead of Temple and UCF, but I wouldn't worry too much about them, they play home games against ECU and USF to finish the season, so they will win out. It's more likely they swap places with Tulsa at 4 than drop to 6.
Here is the conference tourney schedule if anyone is interested in seeing how all the seeds might play out. http://www.theamerican.org/sports/2017/12/7/2018 MBB Championship Central.aspx
