Just heard from my Ga Tech golf partner that UCF cancelled their game with Ga Tech this weekend. Understandable action but it seems like the AAC has some very sticky schedule issues. UH, Memphis, UConn, and USF all have 11 game schedules now and UCF only has 10 games. Memphis, UCF, USF, and UConn are all down one conference game. In addition, UConn and USF are down a divisional game. USF is at home this weekend against Illinois so I would think the chances of that game being cancelled are high also.
We already know our game can't be rescheduled. I don't know what the AAC can do to salvage as much of the season as possible and also keep the championship races balanced. It could be a year when 1 loss wins an outright divisional championship because the other 1 loss team has fewer conference wins.
Powell or anyone else hearing anything out of the AAC about this problem? Or is it just a matter of "it is what it is"?
