This is according to M. David Rudd, president of Memphis University and tweeted by C. Austin Cox.

There are two positions to be had on this deal. Some folks take the glass half empty position which is around 6-8 million. That's fine. It might turn out to be just that. Others, like myself, have said for several years that based on Aresco the total money is going to be north of 10 million. We could be wrong or we could be spot on. Just have to wait and see.

But whatever the tv deal brings in the AAC is no longer one of the "Little Sisters of the Poor conferences. We are growing up as a conference. Our facilities have been upgraded by many AAC members. Our on the field results establish the AAC as competitive with the P5 middle of the pack groups. (sometimes even with their top clubs....see UH vs Florida State, OU, Louisville in football and our BB being top 10....and the recent UCF 2 year run in football) Finally, our tv ratings have improved to the point where some of our games out draw the ratings of similar P5 games.

According to President Rudd we will know one way or another next week whether we can boast of another feather in our conference cap or not. I think we will.
