2014-2015 UH had almost $26 million for 58% subsidy. Revenue ranked 62. I believe this is academic year so Levine's last year 2014 football season.
Without 2015-2016 numbers it is hard to say what happened but in '15 we had higher attendance, access bowl money, and BB attendance picked up some. So I would suspect the subsidy has dropped.
With the Big 12 not expanding today as reported so far, I am not too worried though. Everyone knows the subsidy needs to drop but that doesn't necessarily mean less spending. We have this year's sell out and near sell out attendance. Louisville is sold out. The bottom line is Sampson and BB have to get attendance up. The new BB arena should put more butts in the seats when it opens. Now we need to make the NCAA tourney and put butts in the seats. I see the key to sustaining spending could come from the number 1 source of funds not TV contracts but ticket sales.
