Offense is a big question mark. No clue where this ends up. Baseball is a process, not an event, but this process looks likely to have some real peaks and valleys over the next three months. I still don't see how we'll be as good offensively as last year.

Need Padgett's bat and leadership in the lineup. I assume he's 3 or 4 in the lineup.

At some point you have to wonder if Joe Davis will ever approach that streak he had in the middle of his freshman year or have injuries done him in. No sign of that hitter this weekend. None.

We've never had this many catchers. All of Redden, Lovelace and Bartlett appear to be good catch and throw guys. Redden could hit.

After his first AB, Coldiron had some really good swings.

We had 46 Ks of Holy Cross in three games. Wow. Just wow.

Way too early to say this, but I'm developing this hypothesis: we seem to have a somewhat different approach on the mound. Where Frank was all about pounding the zone, we seem much more intent on keeping the bad guys off balance with off speed stuff. Hard to say if that's true after 3 games against the same team, but I'm going to watch for it.

On that, Freddie didn't throw as hard today as last year, but had a semblance of some kind of breaking ball. A curve or maybe a slurve, but no clue really.

One last point: Holy Cross' pitchers work much more slowly than any team I think I've ever seen. Every at bat was an epic.
