Which of these sports should we add next if we get invited?
I assume it would be a women's sport since we are still short of equalized scholarships under Title IX.
Women's Equestrian (15 max scholarships; Baylor, TCU, Ok St, Kansas St compete)
Women's Gymnastics (12; OU, Iowa St, West Virginia, Denver)
Women's Rowing (20; UT, OU, Kan St, Kansas, West Va, Tennessee, Alabama, Old Dominion)
Men's Swimming & Diving (9.9; TCU, Texas, West Virginia)
Men's Tennis (4.5; Baylor, OU, Ok St, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech)
Men's Wrestling (9.9; Ok St, OU, Iowa St, West Va, Air Force, Wyoming, NoDak State, Northern Colo, Utah Valley, SoDak State)
I always thought gymnastics would be a natural with Bela Karolyi and all the Olympians who trained here or came from here.
Women's gymnastics is a head count sport, meaning each girl gets a full ride like football, hoops, volleyball & women's tennis. All the other sports listed use partial scholarships like baseball, golf, track etc.
Surprised that the Big 12 does not sponsor men's soccer.
