Transfer admission policy is tightening for the main campus. Before, if you had at least 30 hours and at least a 2.0 GPA, you were automatically admitted to the UH main campus.
Now, automatic admits are 15+ hours and 2.5+ GPA, with individual review at 15+ hours and 2.25+ GPA.
Raising the minimum transfer GPA to 2.25 puts us on equal footing with Tech, UTSA and Texas State. A&M and UT minimum is 2.75. UT-Dallas minimum is 3.0.
Studies show that transfer GPA corresponds with subsequent progress towards a degree.

The Houston Forensic Science Center will be moving into Building 14 at the Energy Research Park. The Center provides forensic services to the Houston Police Department and other law enforcement agencies. It employs over 200 scientists. Building 14 will undergo approximately $30M in renovations. UH will recoup those construction costs over the term of the lease with the Houston Forensic Science Center.
