Houston extended an offer to Iowa Western C.C. TE Lou Dorsey on Friday. Dorsey was originally a 6'6" 205-pound WR out of Jacksonville (FL) Ribault High School. He signed with Illinois and played in all 12 games and started in seven at TE during his freshman year before ultimately deciding to transfer to Iowa Western. He was on the BTN All Freshman team during his time at Illinois.

He'll suit up this season for Iowa Western and is now around 225-230 pounds.

Also holds offers from Memphis and Marshall.

Dorsey on the Houston Offer

"I feel great about picking up the offer," Dorsey told Cougars Den. "I love what the program has accomplished over the last year, I believe I can provide a big role for the team."

The Scoop

Defensive line coach Brian Early gave Dorsey the good news after watching his film. The Cougars had great success late in the recruiting cycle for 2019 plucking from the JUCO ranks and the staff feels like Dorsey is a playmaker that can come in and be an impact player right away. I'm told they view him as a perfect fit for Holgorsen's offensive system.

Dorsey didn't indicate that he was in any kind of hurry to come to a decision anytime soon. He's going to continue to look at all of his options, iron out some visits and make his decision when he feels comfortable. But with him being someone the staff views as a potential impact player at the TE position he'll definitely be a name worth keeping an eye on as Houston continues it's courtship.
