Major yesterday announced his official hiring of an OC that is considered hot, young and a rising star in the coaching ranks but someone he had no overlap with personally at any school previously and whom presumably the rest of the purported offensive staff had no overlap with either -- thus he is probably letter CBJ speak/interview each of Pope, Wyatt and the presumed offensive line coach before announcing their positions and/or new hires for any of these respective positions.

I have heard/seen speculation for the DC candidate that ranges from David Gibbs, Tosh, Phil Bennett and Brian Stewart. I will note that none of these potential candidates have any overlap with Major in terms of working on the same staff at the same time. Major did work for Saban before Tosh worked with Saban -- and in the case of Roll Tide this may count as some "degree" of overlap since the culture is so unique and so strong.

However, perhaps more important than any potential overlap with Major, none of the above rumored candidates has any overlap in coaching experience with the co-DC that has already been announced which is CCJ. Since Jennings has already been confirmed and announced (as well as the D-Line coach), one would think that the new Play-Calling Co-DC might have had some prior experience at either UofH, UT, Arkansas, TCU or Baylor with Coach Clay Jennings. Any thoughts?
