So to Matt Jackson and Iowa Coog , this is so funny to me given the way it was pitched as a done deal and the BS comment CTH was not serious about hiring DG. So this points out all the issues that surface around any hire . Another interesting point, that DG has not stayed anywhere more than 4 years. Yes coaching is tough and turnover prolific ; but plenty of coaches do get a chance to settle in at a couple of places for awhile. I am not making a lot out of this point but it is hysterical how this lubbock media outlet is throwing up all these red flags about DG . So iowa coog using your standard that would mean kk was not realy serious about hiring dg if this does not work out at TT - wrong

Here is the lesson foR you Iowa Coog, Matt Jackson does not have a solid source on this ; DG MAY YET STAY ; but if he does not, the why is.more about who does he get to keep on his staff ,how much pay is he demanding and how much autonomy can he get versus having to work CTH,s plan. This is not about CTH not being serious about keeping him . Let me put it this way , I run a large company and occasionaly key people get recruited for other opportunites . I almost always , want to keep them. However , sometimes it is better for them to take the other position , sometimes the compensation they get would throw a monkey wrench in my comp system ; I can not pay one person $400 k and another for a similar job $800 k .Point is it would be wrong to say I was not serious about retaining them if it does not work out.
While I would like him (DG ) to stay , if he does not we will find another great dc and move on!Just like in the rest of the business world.
Sounds like we have a competitve pool for AC ' s .We will be able to hire the talent..
One last thought if DG wanted so much money we could not hire all the staff he we need including a QB coach who would not let him go too ?
