One of Houston's newest offers was to Edinburg (TX) Robert Vela offensive tackle Ronnie Garza.
Cougarsden chatted with Garza following his offer as the 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive lineman shared his thoughts on the recruiting process and more.
On The Recruiting Process
"Well, it's been going well I'd like to say," Garza told Cougarsden.com. "I haven't been able to have any face to face interactions with coaches but I don't mind the calls and texts."
Garza tells us that UTSA, Houston, Arkansas State, Texas Tech and Texas State are the schools currently recruiting him the hardest.
On Houston
"I talk to Coach Brandon Jones the most, he’s a great man and a great coach. They have been very kind to me."
Garza has already had visits to Rice and Texas Tech and as soon as the NCAA gives the greenlight for on campus visits he plans to visit Houston, UTSA and Texas State as well as any new suitors that may enter the discussion.
On What He's Looking For
"I'm looking for a home away from home. Somewhere I can be comfortable and be like a second family, because that’s the way I see my football team now."
Garza tells us he has no timeline on when he Hopes to have a decision finalized, it really just comes down to how comfortable he is and what feels right, but no specific timeframe is there.
