Seeing Elvin pass the ball to Hakeem for the last basket that will every be made in Hofheinz got me comparing these two greats and wondering if a case could be made for Elvin getting the honor of the last shot. I was 2 years old when Elvin was drafted in the NBA, so I never saw him play for the Cougars. Elvin led the Coogs to 2 Final Fours, Hakeem 3. They are both in the NBA top 50 greatest players of all time. They both have championship rings in the NBA. I've heard it said that Hofheinz Pavilion is the "house that Elvin built." They are both great players and great Cougars.
