Hunter told the group:
1. He trusts that Sampson knows a lot more about how to schedule to get into the NCAA tournament than Hunter does, as Sampson has been to a dozen tournaments. So he doesn't get involved with basketball scheduling.
My comment: weak sauce, Hunter. There are easy rules, parameters and guideliness you can give Sampson that would ensure he won't screw up our RPI by scheduling a bunch of patsies at home.
2. The money for the IPF is almost completely raised. The money for the baseball facility is almost completely raised. But they are way short of what they need for the Fertitta Center.
3. The IPF will be used as an area to host recruits next year. It won't be open for general tailgating. If and when they build the West EZ football operations center with a recruiting lounge, they will revisit the idea of opening the IPF on game days for tailgating
4. He said something about adding more ribbon boards at TDECU. But 300 level restrooms and concessions won't happen until the stadium is expanded.
5. Hunter said they were releasing the pricing plan for the Fertitta Center on March 5. He prepared the crowd for sticker shock, begging and pleading that no one call him to complain. Afterwards, I was told that floor seats will require a $50,000 donation per seat in order for the right to purchase those seats. There will be required donations for all the club, loge and premium seating. I understand on March 5 there will also be a fly-through video or animation touring the design and/or showing a view from the seats.
