Those voting "no way" a G5 makes the CFP could have a point. But then again no one beat two top 5 teams last year except a G5 team, Houston. No one, not Alabama, Ohio State, no one but Houston. Would that have been good enough to get UH in? We will never know since UH ended up losing 3 regular season games and didn't even play in the conference championship.
This brings me to my point. I do not think that Houston will continue to be thought of as a G5 team if it can beat the two P5 teams on its schedule, win its conference, and go on to win the NY6 game like it did in 2015. That would be NINE straight P5 wins in a row. I don't care who you are that is a darn good resume because the last one is also probably going to be highly ranked. Houston is a P5 school in every way except the arbitrary G5 label that has been placed on us.
Every team in the major leagues in baseball thinks they are going to win the whole enchilada
every spring. Perhaps that is where I am with our Coogs. I think this team will accomplish that very thing. If we do, forget that G5 stuff. No other G5 school will have done what we are about to do. If we do, it ain't fantasy, it is a fact!
