When considering this coach or that coach remember that the AAC is about to move up in class with our new tv contract. Whether it is going to be 6-8 million or much, much more that is enough to attract just about any coach except a select few if we really wanted to go after someone.

We can debate about whether UH would do that or not but the money is going to be there if the powers that be wanted to spend it in that way.

In my opinion it would be a wise move. We all know that realignment is coming. We can debate market size vs results on the field vs fill in the blank. But a good coach produces good results and we are going to have the money to go out and get one if we want to very soon.

Sure, we will need a coach that sees the value of the Houston market. He will need to also see the potential here that can propel him forward if he is successful. But I am tired of going down the hall for our coaching decisions. When we turn the calendar in a few days we are very close to finding out how much more money the AAC is going to get on its new contract. Compared to the peanuts we previously were getting its going to be a lot. Now, lets go get a quality coach. We can afford to.
