Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen and staff are getting a head start on 2021 standout running back Darius Hale of Houston (TX) Dobie High School. Houston is the first school to offer the 22-6A All-District standout.
"I am truly blessed and I know that it's time to grind way harder than I've done before," Hale told Cougars Den after picking up his first offer on Monday night.
Hale was offered over the phone by Offensive Analyst Mike Burchett who called to give Hale the good news.
"UH is a great school and it's in my hometown and I've been growing up watching the Cougars and dreamed of having the opportunity to play for them one day," Hale said.
Hale is entering his junior year and already checks in at 6-foot, 205-pounds. He rushed for 1,353 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore at Dobie High School earning himself all-district honors. He'll certainly be one to keep an eye on going forward. Holgorsen and staff have the benefit of getting out in front of this one being the first offer.
Hale told us that he's also getting some interest from Oklahoma State and that Texas has recently visited him and started recruiting him as well. Still very early in the process for the 2021 prospect, but give props to Holgorsen and Co. for getting out in front of this one early as he's a prospect that could blow up the next two years.
