cut and pasted from the comments a poster regarding the OU game we won:

"
Grand Wonder2 months ago
There were talks among Big12 schools before and after this game ( especially after) to leave UH out of the expansion because of the fear that they had for the Coogs! OU's Bob Stoops had expressed his fear of the Coogs and so did UT school administrators and Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, who openly called out to the conference officials to not add UH! He even said it on the radio show that if the Coogs were added to the Big12 then the rest of the conference would suffer, especially in recruiting! People outside of Texas and Oklahoma don't understand how big this fact of UT, OU and Oklahoma State coaches and officials showing fear of UH is! For over 80 years these schools have called UH "Cougar High" and "Houston Cougroes" (The combining form of the words Cougars and Negroes) because UH is the first college in the South to let black and Latino athletes join their athletic programs. UT and its fans were especially nasty often calling UH's athletes the N word and taunting UH's athletes with obscenities and racial slurs and referring to UH's athletes as "The Houston Cougroes" whenever they show up for games at their stadiums! Boy, how time has changed now --- not just the fact that UT was forced to allow black athletes to play like UH had done, but now UT is copying whatever UH is doing and stealing its coaches and football recruits! This is huge since UT has always looked down at UH and had sabotage it's chances of getting support from the state and tried to keep UH down through political means since Texas' politicians are made up of mostly of UT graduates"

Interesting, hmmphff
