Baseball is my favorite professional sport. BY FAR. As a Houston-area native, I've been an Astros fan my whole life. I knew going in that last year's team was extremely over-rated. Any starting lineup that included Jason Castro, Luis Valbuena, Jake Marisnick, Colby Rasmus, et. al. was going to struggle to score enough runs to compete for a championship. Too many .210 hitters and too many strikeouts.
Compare that to this year's projected starting lineup:
Next season’s projected lineup (from Real Sports)
George Springer CF
Alex Bregman 3B
Jose Altuve 2B
Carlos Correa SS
Carlos Beltran LF
Evan Gattis DH
Josh Reddick RF
Brian McCann C
Yulieski Gurriel 1B
Man, this team could be really special.
