Greetings Cougar Nation great win today. After much self-deliberation I have decided to share some personal news. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with Stage II Melanoma. Five years ago I dealt with this and thought I had beat it. The cancer came back in the same spot and upon diagnosis I immediately had a MOHS procedure and after 5 cuts they had clean tissue. The oncology team at M.D. Anderson decided since the cancer was in the same spot I needed radiation. So starting Monday I have had three treatments and have 9 more to go. This is strictly as a precaution in case a few of those pesky Melanoma cells went rogue and tried to spread in my back. Tests revealed they did not spread to my lymph node system. I have told a couple of folks in our Cougarsden community, Shasta 89 and UHBOB. I also told Randy (former UH trainer) but I do not know if he is of our community. I am worn out from the treatment but look forward to the H Association tailgate Saturday. I figure a few beers will help jump start the radiation therapy, right? They sure as hell won't hurt it! GO COOGS!!!!!!!
