I apologize if I have posted this before ( I'm getting older and I'm afflicted with CRS disease ) but here's a little show on the Lost Colony of Roanoke. At the 24:30 mark and the 34:00 mark the narrator visits with the Lumbee tribe of North Carolina. The Lumbee say in their oral tradition that their ancestors come from the Croatan and the Roanoke colonists. Many Lumbee have surnames of Roanoke colonists, one of them being Sampson. There was a Captain John Sampson at Roanoke. As many of you know our own Kelvin Sampson is Lumbee. It would be interesting to see if the Sampson family has ever done some geneology.
