If Ward is not our QB next year than we will be darn good at that position. I say that because IF we have somebody better we must have a darn good QB. Many like to say that Ward is not the answer but the kid put up some incredible numbers without the add of any QB coaching. He continued to improve as th season went along. Arguably the two best teams we faced were the last two on the road at Cincy and Pitt in Fort Worth. We scored 31 and 35 and Wards stats those two games were as follows:
PITT
14 rushes 92 yards, 15/24 passing, 3 TD, 0 INT, 274 yards, 366 total yards
CINCY
11 rushes 84 yards, 27/45 passing, 2 TD's, 1 INT, 360 yards 444 TOTAL yards
In the last two games of the season against maybe our best competition all Ward did was:
25 rushes 176 yards (7 YPC, 88 per game )
42/69 passing ( 61% ), 5 TD';s, 1 INT, 634 yards ( 317 per game )
WARD PRODUCED 405 YARDS PER GAME AGAINTS CINCY AND PITT.
If we can start a QB that can do better than that we will be one tough cookie! And now we have THREE QB coaches instead of none!
