The Houston coaching staff continues to focus on adding to the 2019 recruiting class. Offensive line is the absolute top priority right now but Houston feels they are in a good spot with one of their top targets on the board.

Full Court Press for Chaney

Chaney is at the top of Houston's wish list and No.1 player left on their board. He visited Houston yet again on Thursday night for Houston's matchup with Tulane. The staff remains confident about their chances to land Chaney who's already been on campus a handful of times. There was previous interest in Arizona and Louisiana Tech, but that seems to have cooled. Missouri may be Houston's biggest competition for Chaney's services. He visited Columbia about a month ago for the Tigers homecoming game and came away really impressed with the visit. Sean Williams of PowerMizzou.com has Chaney listed as one of Missouri's top remaining targets as well so it could get interesting over the next month as Chaney plans to announce and sign during the early signing period.

A new OL Offer Sent Out

The Cougars offered local Jersey Village offensive tackle Patrick Paul, who's listed at 6-foot-8, 320-pounds. Paul is a raw product at offensive tackle, but certainly has the frame to be a massive anchor along the offensive line. Houston joins Tulsa and Henderson State as Paul's only offers as it stands. The staff feels pretty good about their chances to land Paul, his older brother plays for Tulsa but I'm told that the younger Paul has no interest in going to Tulsa.

Four-Star Visitor on Slated for Return Visit on Monday

Rivals four-star running back Titus Swen will return to Cullen Boulevard for another unofficial visit as he's slated to be on campus to check out Houston's practice on Monday. He's a guy we've mentioned before as Swen continues to wait on the coveted offer from Houston. The fact that he's returning to Houston really tells me that he's got a big interest in earning that offer. With just four offers from Arizona State, Kansas, Sand Diego State and SMU an offer from Houston could potentially be a game changer for the Metroplex product.

I think the biggest concern with Swen might be a lack of top end speed. He's a big physical back, but I think his 4.70 forty time at the opening might have some concerned about his speed, which is obviously an emphasis in the Houston offense. I asked around and there appears to be no concerns regarding his grades or test scores, I was told he had great grades so, the forty time and the fact that he's not really getting featured as a big part of his high school team's offense are the only things I can think of that might be causing teams to shy away from him.
