As far as I can tell the latest 247 ranking has Julon Williams rated the overall #31prospect in the state. Hopefully we can hold onto him. Coach Applewhite was in San Antonio this weekend. In addition, Kelan Walker is #89, Garrison Vaughn #123, Jakori Morgan #124, Donavan Mutin #140, and Delaken Goodson #150. I've seen QB Chance Amie in the top 100 and top 150 and out of it. He is, however, rated one of the top four dual-threat QBs in Texas. Dino Babers really wanted him.
The two commits from Louisiana (one isn't firm but we should have a pretty good chance) would be top 150 guys in Texas. In addition we plan to resign Bryan Jones, who had offers from Texas and A&M and would probably be a top 50 player in Texas this year. We also got Isaiah Chambers, who will be a sophomore in '18 and was ranked one of the overall top 25 players in the state in '16. I think we are wanting to sign two junior college players, an ILB and OT (wish we'd get a CB; maybe they have a grad transfer in the works) and are also recruiting four star WR Lawrence Keys and a few others. So we're bringing in some real talent, and hopefully a few of the under-the-radar recruits will turn out to be hidden gems much like Payton Turner, Grant Stuard, and D.J. Small.
