1.1 Preliminary Project Timeline:
Design Start = October 2017
Construction Start = July 2018
Substantial Completion = October 2019
Final Completion = December 2019
1.2 Budget. The Construction Cost Limitation for the Project is $46.4 million.
SECTION 2 - PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
2.1. Overview. The Project shall be a multi-level parking garage at Entrance 18 and Elgin Street and will have a capacity of approximately 2,500 cars. To allow for proper traffic flow, a section of the existing campus loop road will need to be redesigned and constructed to make room for the new parking garage. In addition to the parking requirements are the tenant spaces within the structure with a GSF of 42,692 square feet. Materials that would likely be incorporated into the design of the new parking garage include those of surrounding buildings; buff brick; nominally transparent window glass, and patinated copper, aluminum-gray, or dark zinc metal panel. The occupied space will continue the practice of sustainable building on campus and will maximize the use of natural light and incorporation of views. Generous glazing areas will allow the office space, gallery, retail and dining space a glimpsed of the outside, while bringing views of mature trees and greenery and native planting inside.
