From Reddit:

In 2017, Rice split time between Sam Glaesmann and Miklo Smalls. Glaesmann injured his shoulder late last season and hasn't seen any action since. Miklo Smalls left the program and is now at Independence Junior College of "Last Chance U" fame. Backup QB JT Granato transferred to Missouri State.

Rice started the 2018 season with senior Vanderbilt transfer Shawn Stankavage under center. He is 99/174 (56.9%) for 1011 yards (5.81 ypa) with 9 TDs to 7 interceptions. He injured his foot two weeks ago vs UAB (Rice's first shutout loss at home in 29 years) and is out for the season.

Junior Jackson Tyner has played intermittently. He's 9/19 (47.4%) for 132 yards (6.95 ypa) with 0 TDs and 1 interception. He has had major fumbling problems and is stuck on the bench.

Rice started RS freshman walk-on Evan Marshman against FIU with Stankavage out. On the season, he has gone 17/31 (54.8%) for 164 yards (5.29 ypa) with 0 TDs and 1 interception. He injured his non-throwing hand at FIU and apparently needs potentially season-ending surgery.

So that brings us to this weekend, where our hero true freshman Wiley Green will get the start. On the season, Green is 1/6 for 8 yards and 2 interceptions (all against FIU). He'll be backed up by Jackson Tyner, WR Austin Trammell, and RB Juma Otaviano.

Our starting RB, Emmanuel Esukpa, is out with a concussion.

God is real and he hates Rice football.
