I know that sounds a little silly in that we all root for whomever has Houston across their chest but this kid has worked his tail off and overcome a lot.
The coaches were not enamored with him his freshman year. Told him to lose weight and be able to field his position or there would not be a spot for him going forward. This was early in his freshman year. Gave him till September to lose the weight, and the kid lost it before the season ended.
That takes some willpower, determination and hard work. And he has kept it off so it was a lifestyle change and not just a diet.
And he has overcome a few injuries, one or two pretty serious. Again, evidence of willpower, determination and hard work.
To me Fletcher is a great story no matter how his UH career concludes. He loves the game, has worked hard, and nothing has come easy for him, sort of the definition of being a Cougar.
Cannot wait to “see” him get started tonight on Gametracker and Twitter.
