It doesn't mean anything but ...
September 19 might be our least-played day of the football season. Since 1946, UH has only played on 9/19 6 times. Only won a game twice.
1959 - lost to Ole Miss 16-0
1964 - lost to Auburn 30-0
1970 - beat Syracuse 42-15
1981 - lost to Miami 12-7
1992 - beat Illinois 31-13
1998 - lost to UCLA 42-7
So we haven't played on this date since the infamous Cade McNown game at Robertson in 1998 when sprinkler heads were attacking him.
Played on a Thursday in 1977 when Saturday would have been the 19th. We had byes on 9/19 in 1987, 2009 and 2015 and as it sits, we have no game scheduled in 2020. Our OOC games are set for 9/5, 9/12, 9/26, and 10/17. So unless the American schedules a league game, we'll miss that year, too.
And yeah I was up early this morning with not much to do.
