Hello! My name is Cameron Kubos and I am the Assistant Director of the Spirit of Houston Marching Band and the director of Cougar Brass.
On Thursday October 26 at 7:30 PM, the entire Spirit of Houston Band, Cheer, and Dance will be performing in "The Spirit of Houston on Stage" at the Moores Opera House. If you have never been before, the concert features marching band music from throughout the year along with additional performances by the UH Cheerleaders, Cougar Dolls, Twirlers, Colorguard, and this year, Cougar Brass! The format of the concert changed and was in different areas for a few years, but this year we are back in the beautiful Moores Opera House and it will be a great show! It is a unique experience to hear and see these groups indoors in an intimate venue such as the Moores Opera House.
The concert also directly benefits the entire program as ticket proceeds go towards the Spirit of Houston (which fully houses not only Band but cheer, dance, twirlers, and Colorguard). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by following the link at uhbands.com. There is also a silent auction preceding the concert in the lobby, where all proceeds go towards the SOH Alumni Association's Scholarship Fund. While the proceeds help, the most important thing for us is to have a full audience for our students. They work incredibly hard and love performing for their University. There's nothing better for them than to come out to a packed audience, and we would love for all of you to be a part of that! Thanks and Go Coogs!
