USA Today has obtained the tax returns of the Big 10. One word comes to mind.....Wow! The NCAA is talking about letting the players profit off their images, names, and likenesses. If that actually comes about the Big 10 is flush with revenue........760 million dollars to be exact. That amount is a record for any conference and it underscores another reason why OU/UT will more than likely jump ship to the Big 10 if an invitation is offered to them.
When the big bucks (we don't know how big yet or even if) start flowing out to the players the more money you have to spend the better positioned a school will be to recruit them to their campus. Each school in the Big 10 received 54 million dollars each. The conference received a 100 million dollars more than even the SEC. Think of the prestige that will give a coaching staff in the homes of potential recruits. UT is all about that as we all know.
UT/OU is not going to want to remain in the Big 12 that only reported 374 million dollars in revenue. That means that the Big 10 recorded more than Twice as much revenue as the Big 12. Double Wow!! The picture is becoming more clear as to the why it would be crazy for those two schools to remain in the Big 12.
