I see the Chronicle keeps stating we are after Carrolton Hebron QB Clayton Tune and I have also seen posts stating we are talking with Rockdale QB Torry Tune. Is there really a front runner that we are pushing for?
I have watched the senior year highlights for Tune and he looks like someone I would love to have. He can throw short, mid-range, and deep with precision accuracy and really runs well. He looks to be a smart QB that goes through progressions and finds the open guy -- even when scrambling. He also throws well on the run either left or right.
I have not seen the Locklin highlights, just a couple of plays from the State Semi-Final games. In those couple of clips he looked like a very good runner, but I haven't seen anything about his passing ability. However, the fact that he led Rockdale to the state title says a lot. The thing is, just because he played QB in high school doesn't mean he is really a QB since many high schools just put their best athlete at QB? Could he really be better suited to be a running back or even WR?
So, who do you guys think is our best option and who do you think we are pursuing the most. Would it be a stretch to take both if we could?
I really don't know either other than what I said above. I also have no idea what the coaches are thinking, or if we can even get either of these kids. What say you?
