Back in the day a little granny lady said that line in a burger commercial and it caught on. I was reminded of that slogan when the schedule updates that included Rice and UTSA was announced. These two type teams are necessary to be sure. We cannot and should not play a Notre Dame schedule for our OOC games. But their announcement left me thinking, where's the beef? There should be more to this burger schedule in my opinion.

HY has proven that he can fill up a schedule with G5 teams and on a certain level that is a good thing. For me I am still waiting to see if he can find and get a home and home with the higher profile P5 teams. So far the jury is still out as there have been nothing but games with G5 teams announced.

We play Arizona at home and Texas Tech on the road in 2018. We have a road game to fill that year. I would like to see a top P5 team scheduled. Right now, 3/21/16, here are some possibilities for the away game in 2018. The list includes Florida State, North Carolina, Michigan State, Ohio State, USC, Stanford, and Oregon. That is seven and I did not look at the SEC or Big 12 yet.

Out of those seven or schools in other conferences there should be at least one of them who would contract with UH for a home and home. We could play at their place in 2018 and then our schedule is wide open to play the return game at our place.

One of these guys should want to play in the rich recruiting grounds of Houston. And if 2018 does not work for them I noticed most of their later schedules open up in later years and so does ours.

There are many reasons why bringing in these type of teams make sense for us. One, it should almost guarantee a sellout. Two, a game of this stature should drive season tickets even higher. Three, this would be the fourth year in the tenure of CTH. We should have the talent and the depth by then to play with anybody without it being a problem for us later if a player or two is injured. Fourth, our fans deserve a game like this when the return game is played at TDECU stadium. We have ponied up for the ticket price increases. We have traveled well to the bowl games. We are going to set a record in season tickets for 2016. There are over 54,000 tickets sold already for the OU game. Now, we would like a reward that is not spelled Rice or UTSA please.
