Why no executive coaching in college sports?

Most of us are enamored with our new coach - this is not about him per se - but it seems to me that HCs, especially new ones, could use some executive coaching, just as corporate managers receive.

One could argue the AD serves that purpose but ADs are not training in that kind of consultative approach and few people will tell their boss the unvarnished truth, or express their secrets fears or issues.

Think about Briles. Left to his own devices, even after we physically got manhandled by Kansas (or K State, I don't recall...and really would like to forget) he would have left his S&C coach in place. Maggard demanded a change and then just made it himself. Huge difference in our program and Briles career.

An executive coach might have kept Levine from making some of his bad decisions to include shutting himself and the program off from the public and media.

Granted, decisions/mistakes seem more obvious with hindsight but just at UH alone I have seen many instances where an executive coach might have made a difference in outcomes for coaches, and consequently the program.

With the money being spent on coaching salaries it is an incremental expense.

Sports psychologists abound but not executive coaches. Why not?
