So the Florida AD contacted the UCF AD and said hey would you like to play us? On the surface that sounds like a opportunity of a lifetime for UCF. But wait, the Florida AD said more. He told UCF that he wants 2 in Gainesville and one in Orlando.

So the question is would you take that deal for UH? Would you take it for a 2 for 1 with UT or the Aggies? Would you take those deals if UH had just gone undefeated for two years and claimed equality with the rest of the NCAA by proclaiming yourselves national champions. National champs do not do 2 for 1 deals do they?

And that is the dilemma for Danny White at UCF. Does he take the Florida offer and try to beat them at their place twice just to shut them up and prove once and for all that UCF is as good as anybody?

So how did White respond? He said thanks but no thanks. Why? Because taking that deal would be admitting that UCF is not as good as the P5 bunch. It would be saying that UCF actually is a so called G5 team that talks one way but really knows its place in the football world is at the kiddie table after all. Instead, White offered Florida a 1-1 with an additional neutral site game. UCF has gone undefeated for two straight years with a Peach bowl ring in between. They proclaimed themselves as national champs. National champs don't do 2 for 1 games.
