Apparently some folks all but think showing up will ensure an undefeated season and playoff berth. I wouldn't say the CFP is impossible, but the odds are somewhere between long and astronomical, IMO. I would be THRILLED with winning the conference again. I think that if we do (maybe finish 11-2), we'd have an excellent shot at the Cotton Bowl. Doing that would pretty much enshrine UH as the G5 program, supplanting Boise, and put us on pretty much even footing perception-wise with about everyone but the Alabamas and Ohio States. And if we did get to the Cotton Bowl and win it, we'd have a shot at finishing in the Top 10 two consecutive years, which would be the second time that has happened in 70 years of UH football. Would that be tremendous or what? And yet a few (hopefully this isn't a widespread sentiment) seem to think that would pretty much a letdown.
