I would like to encourage all of you to listen to this 18 minute radio interview in its entirety. Most of you have seen or read a few of the quotes from the interview, but like most things the print versions don't give the audio versions justice. He was extremely candid about many parts of the process, and how he truly felt about it, and why he thinks the BIG XII is here to stay, and quite possibly beyond 2025. Much of what he says makes perfect sense, and sounds much more genuine than the sugar coated load of crap Boren spouted off on Monday.

A few key interesting points that he touches on:

1. Perception isn't reality as far as the dysfunction within the BIG XII. The AD's and Coaches were all seemingly on the same page. It was the Presidents that were muddled with their ideas.

2. There is a genuine and possibly legitimate feel that they may be able to poach 2-4 schools from the PAC-12 when their GOR is expired, which is before the BIG 12's. 1 main thing to consider here outside of what he says which is a very interesting dynamic to me. FOX owns the PAC 12 media rights. ESPN/FOX owns the BIG 12 media rights. When the Texoma 4 were headed to the PAC, FOX would have removed OU and UT from ESPN control. That gave birth to the bribe that is known as the LHN.
In 8 years, the potential is there for ESPN to flip that agenda on FOX.

3. Mr. Pollard sounds very genuine when he suggests that UT, and OU didn't want expansion, and that they never did. He talks about how everyone in the media and public claims that UT and OU are likely to be headed out the door in 8 years, but then goes on to say that if the other 8 schools had FORCED EXPANSION on OU and UT them they would for surely been out the door.
This would indicate that most everyone may have had those FOR expansion vs. NOT FOR expansion completely wrong.
Also, suggesting that the public support for consideration of UH by UT PREZ and AD, as well as TT PREZ was not genuine.

4. 8 years is an eternity in college sports. The BIG XII is no longer an option for us. Either it survives in 8 years with the additions of some PAC schools, or everyone parts ways and searches for a home.
In which case, UH will need to claw and scratch to keep its current situation on the same level or above for that day. We can't afford not to. We will need to beat out at least 4 BIG XII programs for a home. Our geography limits our options. We don't need Tillman pissing off UT. We need to find a way to keep up relations with UT, TT, and TCU.
