Well Cougar fans, you guys were close to another in-state commitment over the last few days. I just got off the phone with Mansfield Timberview LB Michael Badejo and he said he almost called coach Mehringer (his area recruiter) up and committed in the last couple days.
He was very close and happy with the choice because he only wants to play close to home, but SMU came in and told him they want to offer him but coach Morris wants to do it in person. Badejo is set to visit SMU Tuesday now and is expecting an offer.
He said he would then slow it down and just focus on SMU and UH and do his research to make a decision. He did mention he would be at UH on an unofficial visit on June 25.
If for some reason SMU sees him in person and doesn't offer Tuesday, I'd say he would go ahead and commit. If they do offer, he'll probably wait until later this summer.
I'll obviously follow up after the SMU visit and see how it goes.
