First the pun was intended. ( Major / major mea culpa)
There is no way we do not give Major at least one more year . My friendly advice would be for him in the coming weeks to do the following 1) announce an exciting OC even if he has to share Asst HC title and pay up 2) have a press conference where he says something like here is what worked but here is what did not and it is on me as a first year coach .,,,, I was stubborn, tried to be too conservative, did not get imaginative with the playbook .... did not make sure the team was up for each game .,..... I did not make the best OC hire .... I wore a trash bag to the games ( ok so maybe not that )
Then say UH , the team and the fans deserved more of me ... I am sorry we will not let that happen again ... next year you will see a productive and exciting brand of football ; we will not get spanked by cellar dwellers and we will rock TDECU with Cougar football etc
A little of this coordinated through our new AD could help a lot . We can hope then CMA pulls it off ...but it would at least help relieve a lot of the gloom and doom hanging in the air over the program right now .
