The Birmingham is actually ahead of the Independence in the pecking order; it's #9. And as of now the SEC has 8 bowl-eligible teams (I don't think they'll get two in the playoff unless maybe Alabama, after beating Auburn, were to lose to Georgia ), as well as two teams sitting at 5-5 and three at 4-6. If we win out, the fact that USF was there last year and Memphis the year before might help our chances.
