In the last weekend of official visits Houston hosted another small group of prospects on their respective official visits. The primary focus for the UH staff will be to close out strong and hang on to some of the top targets they already had committed.

Here's The Group of Recruits in town this Weekend

Trevon Bradley - A recent offer from Houston prompted the visit for the 6-foot, 181-pound athlete from Cleburne (TX) who is currently committed to North Texas. He holds offers from Houston, Army, Bowling Green, North Texas and Tulsa.

Langston Frederick - Another recent offer League City (TX) Clear Springs three-star cornerback holds offers from Arizona State, Houston, Indiana, Iowa State, Michigan State, Minnesota and Missouri to name a few.

DJ Small - Another late DB offer. Visiting after picking up the offer from Houston. Also holds an offer from Airforce.

Terry Wright - JUCO WR from Coffeyville C.C. Also holds offers from Kent State, Boise State, New Mexico and Southern Miss.

Payton Turner - An under the radar 6-foot-6, 230-pound prospect from Houston (TX) Westside.

Demetris Harris - A 6-foot-3, 280-pound three-star offensive lineman from Jacksonville (FL) Robert E. Lee. Holds offers from Houston, FAU, South Florida, UCF, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech to name a few. Expected to play guard at the next level. Already took visits to FAU, USF and Wake Forest.

John Davis - Euless (TX) Trinity three-star CB and current Texas Tech Commit visiting Houston on the last weekend. Committed to the Red Raiders but is apparently keeping his options open. Also holds offers from Colorado State, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Minnesota, Nevada, UTSA, Tulane, Utah and Utah State.

Other News

Samuel Cosmi - Houston offensive line commit Sam Cosmi is in Austin this weekend taking his final official visit prior to signing day after picking up a recent Texas offer. We are working on reaching out to Cosmi to see if we can get his thoughts on where he stands heading into signing day.

Donovan Stiner - Bellaire (TX) DB Donovan Stiner picked up a recent offer from Florida and is in Gainesville this weekend taking his final official visit. We will work on reaching out to him to see where his head is at as well.

Chidi Ogbannaya - The Houston staff continues working on Ogbannaya who recently flipped his commitment to Baylor, but the Houston staff are relentless in trying to bring him back to Houston.

Prospects to Watch

Obviously the three prospects above will be worth watching over the final days. In theory you could say everyone that visited this week is worth at least keeping an eye on heading into Wednesday.

There's a few in the state of Louisiana worth watching on signing day in Amik Robertson of Thibodaux (LA) and Bryan Jones of Baton Rouge (LA) Madison Prep Academy.

Robertson is visiting LSU this weekend. He's expected to announce on signing day where he'll be commiting. He's deciding between LSU, Kansas State, Louisiana Tech (where he was previously committed), Texas and Houston.

Jones is also expecting a signing day decision and the latest I heard was he is expected to sign around 10am. Jones was in Houston for his official visit during the opening official visit weekend two weeks ago. The Cougars have been after him hard. He holds an abundance of offers and also visited College Station last weekend.

Additional Thoughts

Houston has a chance to land both Jones and Amik Robertson, but it's always hard to pull Louisiana prospects out of Louisiana who hold LSU offers. Robertson had an impressive visit to Houston, so the difference between the two visits could make the difference. I feel like the two teams are Houston and LSU for him.

In regards to Jones, I'll be in Baton Rouge on signing day to cover his commitment if I can work out all the logistics with his coach/school but that's the plan. I think Houston has a very good chance at getting him. Might also make a trip out to Thibodaux depending on how the day pans out.

Still trying to reach the other commits on visits elsewhere, I'll chime in with info there as I have it.
