On their first drive in the 3rd quarter, Tulsa went on a 19-play, 93 yard drive. Nineteen plays. I can't remember a UH game in the last 20 years that had such a drive. Hell, that grinding drive that UTSA had to start the 3Q in 2014 was only 13 plays. ULL in 2006 broke us on an 18-play drive.
In reality, Tulsa gained 104 yards on that drive but lost a net of 11 on penalties (5 yards on false start, 10 on a hold, gained 3 on offsides and 1 on PF). They ran it 17 times and threw it only twice. They had 4 guys run the ball on the drive.
The drive only made the score 10-10 but we never recovered. They scored their next 4 drives (plus fumble return. Even with their slog of a 19-play drive, they averaged over 7.3 yards per play in the second half.
